Is a meet-and-greet required?

Yes, for new clients we require a meet-and-greet — in person at our home, online, or at your place when available. We'll introduce ourselves, go over expectations together, and you always have the choice to decide whether to board with us after.

How do I receive updates?

We send daily photo and video updates via Rover Cards, plus detailed health tracking including food/water intake, litter box habits, and stress level monitoring.

Can you administer medication?

Yes! We're experienced with oral medications, injections, hairball relief, and other special needs. We also provide emergency vet visits if needed.

Do you accept kittens or senior cats?

All ages welcome! Vaccination is required. We ask for full disclosure of any previous health issues and records — we can discuss special cases during the meet-and-greet.

Yes — we provide basic grooming for both boarding and drop-in cats when they're cooperative. This includes brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and flea control — the same routine care we give our own cats at home.

How many cats can you board at once?

We accept up to 2 cats from the same owner at a time. We have 2 dedicated boarding rooms (~135 sq ft each) with window views and fresh air, ensuring a comfortable and attentive stay.

What's included in a boarding stay?

A dedicated study room with window views and fresh air (you can bring toys, blankets, pads, and even cat trees), daily food and water routines per your schedule, health monitoring (food/water intake, litter habits, stress levels, Feliway management), medication administration if needed, 30+ minutes of dedicated play time daily, and 4+ hours of working companionship in the boarding room each day.

Can my cat roam the house?

Common areas (living room, dining room) are available but not guaranteed 24/7. Your cat may be brought back to their dedicated room when doors need to stay open, guests with allergies visit, during feeding times with allergy conflicts, during meetings or focus time, or when there's noise like vacuuming or a false alarm. If 24/7 full-house access is a must, we recommend drop-in visits at your home instead.

Can my cat go outside?

Possibly! Yard time is not guaranteed, but if your cat demonstrates good outdoor behavior during the meet-and-greet, we'll take them out on a leash for up to one hour of supervised play daily — weather permitting. This is always on-leash and at our discretion based on conditions that day.

What behavior could restrict my cat's house access?

Destructive behavior (accidents outside the litter box, scratching furniture, chewing on cords or plastics, pushing items off shelves), aggression toward people or other cats (constant hissing or initiating attacks), or escape attempts and uncontrollable actions may result in your cat staying in their dedicated room.

Will my cat interact with your cats?

You choose! Your cat can socialize with our two British Shorthairs or stay in their own private room. Note: our cats are allergic to pork, pigeons, and quails, so we separate all cats during feeding times if there's an allergy conflict.

What if my cat doesn't get along with yours?

Your boarding cat stays in their dedicated boarding room, our cats stay in our room, and they each use the shared living and dining space exclusively during the day — so they never need to interact if that's not working out.

What should I bring for boarding?

You can bring your cat's favorite toys, blankets, pads, and even cat trees for the boarding room. We provide complimentary litter box and litter, and will feed wet/dry food per your schedule with a water fountain or bowl replaced daily.

What if my cat has never been away from home?

Bring their comfort items! Their favorite snack, favorite toy, a scratching post, and if they're picky about litter, bring their preferred brand. Familiar scents and routines go a long way in helping them settle in.

What happens to leftover supplies?

In accordance with IRS policies, all leftover supplies (food, litter, etc.) will be treated as trash if they are not claimed within 48 hours of your cat's departure.

We don't provide access to our cameras (they cover the perimeter of our house). But if you'd like to bring your own camera and set it up in the boarding room, you're welcome to!

Absolutely! Just schedule a time with us ahead of your visit so we're not in a meeting or out for groceries.

What area do you serve for drop-in visits?

We serve the Bellevue, Kirkland, and Bothell areas. Drop-in visits are offered at similar rates for homes within a 10-minute drive from our place.

How do I choose between a 30-minute and 60-minute drop-in visit?

Accepted Answer

30 minutes is the average visit time, not a minimum. In a 30-minute visit we typically complete all routine work — food, water, litter — and play with your cat if there's spare time. If routine tasks are automated (automatic feeder, litter robot), that gives us more play time. A 60-minute visit is typical when there's manual routine work and your cat needs ~30 minutes of dedicated play time each visit. Not sure? We'll always help you decide during the meet-and-greet.

Does an extra cat mean extra visit time?

About as long as it takes to brew a cup of coffee — just enough to top off an extra bowl, scoop another box, and say hi.

Do you charge extra on holidays?

Accepted Answer

Yes — a holiday rate applies on major US holidays (New Year's Eve & Day, MLK Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve & Day) and on any Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday within 3 days of those holidays. This captures the full long-weekend cluster: e.g., for a Monday holiday the rate covers Friday–Monday; for a Thursday holiday (Thanksgiving) it covers Monday–Sunday. The holiday nightly rate is $49 (vs. $39 standard) for boarding, and $49 per visit for drop-in. Holiday nights are automatically calculated when you submit a booking request.

Do I need to tip?

Gratitude is accepted only as appreciation for exceptional service — there is absolutely no forced tip or any additional fees. The only exception is reimbursement of surge costs, such as an emergency vet visit due to your cat's pre-existing health issues where we pay the vet bill upfront.

Do you provide health insurance for guest cats?

No, we do not automatically provide health insurance for the cats in our care. If you book through Rover, they may provide insurance coverage from the commission fee they charge. We do require your vet's contact info and the clinic where your cat has their vaccine and health check-up records on file — in case of any emergency, that is where we will bring your cat.

Why isn't there sales tax on my bill?

Pet sitting and boarding services are not subject to Washington State sales tax or Business & Occupation (B&O) gross receipts tax at our current revenue level. Our prices reflect the full cost of service with no hidden fees. The 5% cash discount we offer offsets the credit card processing fee — paying by cash or direct transfer means we pass that savings to you.

What's your cancellation policy?

We offer risk-free booking — all reasonable cancellation requests are honored with no charge. We just ask that you let us know as soon as possible when your travel plans change. You may also extend or shorten your booking, or add or remove a visit at any time. If you're unsure of your plans, reach out and we can hold boarding space for you. Note: for bookings made through Rover, cancellations within 72 hours of the start time may incur a small cancellation fee collected by the platform.

How far in advance should I book?

Most clients book 3–6 weeks ahead. We accept bookings up to 6 months in advance — especially recommended for holidays and peak travel seasons.

What if I need to extend my trip last-minute?

Accepted Answer

If your flight is delayed or an emergency causes a delay within 23 hours of your scheduled pickup — no worries, no extra charge. After 24 hours, we'll do our best to accommodate (there may be other boarders arriving). For each additional 24-hour period, we charge one daily rate. So if your stay extends by 60 hours total, that's 2 extra daily rates.

What if you're fully booked for my dates?

You can still submit a booking request — it'll be placed on our waitlist. If a spot opens up, we'll notify you right away and move your request forward. Waitlist spots are not guaranteed, but we do our best to accommodate when availability changes.
